Emergency callout on my way home
Diverted to an emergency callout on the way home after the client smelt a 'Fishy' smell — a 13A switched fused spur with a severely overheated neutral terminal caused by a loose connection. The conductor and plastic housing around the N IN terminal have charred and carbonised from a long-standing loose connection arcing under load. Left any longer this was a house fire waiting to happen. Isolated at the circuit, accessory replaced and returned to service. Featured on Paul's TikTok (@pj101pj) and Google profile.

A true antique
An installation so old it warranted a call to UKPN on 105 for a free safety inspection — well past its safe service life.

Just way too hot
Discoloured, melted terminals from sustained overheating — moments away from ignition.

Time for a replacement
A consumer unit so degraded that repair was no longer an option — full replacement required.

TikTokIt’s difficult to run an 8.5kW shower off a 2.5mm cable and a 20/32amp shared supply but 10/10 for effort So now they need to revert back to a little pump control rather than upgrading without the correct installed infrastructure Either that or have a new fuse board, new 10mm supply with RCBO/surge protection, testing of all connected circuits and gas/water bonds and a TPN incomer surge device (Expensive 😳) #allcabling #electrician #electrics #safety #dangerous
